He carried out part of his doctoral work in Japan, at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and Nagaoka Institute of Technology, under the Indo-Japan (Monbusho) scholarship — a fellowship awarded through a nationwide competition by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), New Delhi. He has published in international journals and conferences, is a scholar of Japanese language studies running a Japanese school, and has served as a visiting professor at Anna University and MIT, teaching Japanese to first-year graduate students.
